LBS Financial Volunteers Clean Up Long Beach Coastline

Long Beach, CA – August 29, 2022 – LBS Financial Credit Union partnered with the City of Long Beach’s Adopt-a-Beach Program on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Employees, friends, and family gathered at Junipero Beach to clean a stretch of beach between 14th Place and 19th Place. Volunteers were equipped with gloves and trash bags to remove harmful pollutants such as plastic trash, bottle caps, cigarette butts, soda cans, and food wrappers. Approximately 10 bags of trash were collected by volunteers and properly disposed.

“It is important to us that we do our part and stay engaged in maintaining our beaches not just for us, but for the wildlife here,” said a volunteer, “the plastic and debris are breaking down into smaller pieces, which can get into the food of marine life and may eventually even get in our water.”
