LBS Financial Credit Union Donates $5,000 to local charities in honor of Giving Tuesday

Long Beach, CA – December 15, 2021 – Giving Tuesday is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year and is dedicated to giving back to non-profits in the local community. LBS Financial Credit Union celebrated Giving Tuesday this year by donating $1,000 each to five local 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.

The five charitable organizations were nominated by followers of LBS Financial’s Facebook and Instagram pages. From November 22 – November 29, their social media followers voted for their favorite local charities on LBS Financial’s $5K for Five Giving Tuesday post. Over 620 votes were cast and 45 charitable organizations were nominated.

“Making a positive difference in our community and giving back has always been an important mission of our credit union,” said LBS Financial President and CEO, Jeffrey Napper, “Providing a forum for members and our social media followers to nominate the charities that are most meaningful in their lives was a great way for us to honor the charities that matter most to the people we serve.”

The top five charitable organizations that were nominated and received $1,000 to their charity were Live Love Animal Rescue, Families Uniting Families, The Little Lion Foundation, Humansave, and Mayfair High School Band Boosters.
