Math Day at the Beach

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, CSULB hosted its 14th annual Math Day at the Beach event. High school students from schools throughout Southern California participated in this event, competing in teams as well as individual events for prizes and trophies. LBS Financial Credit Union has been a consistent sponsor of the trophies for this event every year.

2012 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

More than 50 staff and family volunteers including LBS Financial Credit Union President and CEO, Jeff Napper joined together on December 1, 2012 to participate in the 2012 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade in Long Beach.

ATM/Debit Card Promotion Kindle Fire Winner

Members that used their Debit and ATM cards from July 1 through August 31 were entered into a drawing for a free Kindle Fire. Member, Ashley Merrill (pictured below) won the Kindle Fire from our ATM/Debit Card promotion.

LBS Financial Donates School Supplies to Three Districts

LBS Financial Credit Union worked with three local school districts this summer to collect school supplies for the 2012-2013 school year. The Credit Union partnered with Long Beach Unified School District and the Long Beach Education Foundation (donation to Hamilton Middle School), Bellflower Unified School District (donation to Las Flores Educational Center) and ABC Unified School District (donation to Tracy High School) for its second annual Adopt-a-School Program. Members of the Credit Union and the public dropped off supplies throughout the summer, supplemented by purchased items from LBS Financial employees and the Credit Union. A special thank you to our Members and employees for supporting this project and helping us make an impact this year!

LBS Financial Awards $1,000 Scholarship

LBS Financial awarded a $1,000 scholarship that could be applied for by any LBS Financial Member in their final year of high school or first three years of college.  One winner for the $1,000 scholarship is selected by a Credit Union employee committee each year. Austin Lemire-Baeten, who will be attending University of California, Davis in the fall, was selected as the 2012 Scholarship Winner.

LBS Financial also awarded scholarships to 32 students in Long Beach, Lakewood, Cerritos and surrounding communities in a separate program working directly with the school counselors.

LBS Financial's Home Buyer's Seminars

LBS Financial hosted four free Home Buyer's Seminars conducted by Loan Consultants, Josie Truong and Sharon Small-Kebede during the months of April through July 2012. Members who attended the entire one hour seminar received a coupon for a free appraisal ($350+value) that may be used on a home loan purchase or refinance through LBS Financial, at close of escrow (effective through October 1, 2012).
