LBS Financial Employees Donate Holiday Toys and Gifts

LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated hundreds of toys, clothing and gifts to the women and children being assisted by the WomenShelter of Long Beach during their Staff Holiday Breakfast on December 9, 2015.

LBS Financial Credit Union employees once again participated in Operation School Bell, a program through the Assistance League of Long Beach, helping prepare backpacks and uniforms over a two day period for various Long Beach unified schools.

LBS Financial Donates School Supplies to Three Districts

LBS Financial Credit Union worked with three local school districts this summer to collect school supplies for the 2015-2016 school year. The Credit Union partnered with Long Beach Unified School District and the Long Beach Education Foundation (donation to Stevenson Elementary School), Bellflower Unified School District (donation to Las Flores Educational Center) and ABC Unified School District (donation to Carmenita Middle School) for its fifth annual Adopt-a-School Program. Members of the Credit Union and the public dropped off supplies throughout the summer, supplemented by purchased items from LBS Financial employees and the Credit Union. A special thank you to our Members and employees for supporting this project and helping us make an impact this year!

LBS Financial Celebrates 80th Anniversary with Summer Act of Kindness

The Credit Union's anniversary took place on September 13th, after a summer of embracing the community in its Summer Acts of Kindness series, such as community sponsorships, beach cleanups, hosting a pet vaccination and microchip clinic, preparing meals and donating over 400 socks to the Long Beach Rescue Mission and more.

LBS Financial Awards 35 Scholarships

Each year, LBS Financial encourages local area high schools, adult schools and community colleges to participate in their scholarship program by recommending students for an award. This year, 35 scholarships were awarded to high school, college and adult students.

LBS Financial Awards $1,000 Scholarship

LBS Financial awarded a $1,000 scholarship that could be applied for by any LBS Financial Member in their final year of high school or first three years of college. One winner for the $1,000 scholarship is selected by a Credit Union employee committee each year. Lily Seitelman, who is going to attend UC Berkeley was selected as the 2015 Scholarship Winner.

LBS Financial Beach Clean-Up Team

Over 25 volunteers consisting of LBS Financial employees, family and friends spent 2 hours on Saturday, May 16, 2015 to clean-up the Long Beach coastline. This is the second beach clean-up of the year as part of our commitment with the city's Adopt-a-Beach program.

Over 35 volunteers consisting of LBS Financial employees, family and friends spent 2 hours on Saturday, February 21, 2015 to make Long Beach a better place. LBS Financial adopted a part of the Long Beach coastline as part of the city's Adopt-a-Beach program and hosts three beach clean ups per year.
